Personal Protection Dog: Zeus's Bite Work Page Two
Protection dogs that are bred with a solid genetic background
are still in control and have the ability to reason
and think clearly when put into a stressful situation.
Personal protection dogs must be able to handle stress
and work out in front of the owner. They must be able
to ward off any aggressor and stop them in their tracks.
Protection
dogs with the proper foundation work of focus, conditioning,
bite development, and drive are able to adapt to their
ever-changing environment.
Personal
protection dogs must react to the change as the aggressors
attack changes.
Even as the aggressor attempts to escape, the fight is
not over until the owner has time to remove himself from
the area. Maintaining contact with the aggressor is important.
Protection
dogs must be taught to expect re-attacks from the aggressor
who is determined to cause harm to the owner or family
members.
