Health and Guarantee:
Our Personal Protection Dog comes with a full line of health and training guarantees that exceed the industry standard.
Social Skills:
Our Personal Protection Dog will be expected to fit well in a social and family setting. We spend time getting the dog used to many social situations to test and proof the dog’s nerves and temperament. We do “Scenario Based Training” in a social setting.
Temperament Testing:
Our Personal Protection Dogs are taken through a three-tier testing program to ensure sound temperament and solid nerves. They are tested in Europe prior to import, on arrival by me personally, and then by my competent staff.
The testing includes, but is not limited to:
- The dog’s ability to enter a pitch-dark building and have the door closed behind him. The dog should show no signs of being conflicted or going into avoidance.
- The dog will be able to operate in protection/engagement scenarios on slick floors and show no signs of being conflicted or of going into avoidance.
- The dog will negotiate stairs with agility and ease.
- The dog will be able to climb an open staircase up to 2 stories tall and come down without going into avoidance or being conflicted.
- The dog will be placed in progressive stages of gunfire situations starting at 50 yards and coming closer. The dog should show no signs of being gun shy or become aggressive to the handler as the aggressor comes closer.
- The dog will be able to perform obedience in heavy traffic to evaluate their focus and abilities to operate in stressful conditions.
Obedience/Partnership:
Our Personal Protection Dogs have very good on-leash and off-leash obedience when working with an aggressor. We proof all obedience events with the dogs before they are delivered to their new home.
Protection:
A Our Protection Dogs will have very good bite mechanics, which include a full mouth, hard, bite. The dog will be able to bite and negotiate a bite suit, to make arm, arm to underarm, and back to front transfers. This dog will demonstrate control with a clear head when there is an engagement to the aggressor.
Stopping power:
Our Protection Dogs will have stopping power; able to stop an intruder, attacker, or abductor, whether on the bite or by his presence when he is in one of the 3 guard positions.
Scenario-based training:
Our Protection Dogs must go through many different scenarios before we can be certain the dog will perform under new and different situations. The definition of Scenario is as follows: An imagined or projected sequence of events, especially any of several detailed plans or possibilities or one act plays. Or simply put a simulated reenactment of an actual event.
Our Personal Protection Dogs, Family Protection Dogs, and Home Protection Dogs all have “Scenario Based Training Exercises” based on a home invasion, and numerous “Scenario Based Training Exercises” based on the “5 Critical Concepts” that define a Personal Protection Dog.
