German Shepherd Dog Customer Testimonial
It’s not just Tom's professionalism and knowledge of dogs that set him apart.
Its the fact that he truly cares about his new friends and what it is that they
are looking for in a dog; and he does the best he can to match the dog and future
owners personalities and activities. Notice I said "new friends" not clients,
because to Tom you are a friend once you have called and inquired about a dog.
For all of you that may have doubts about Tom Brown and Vom Fieldcrest Shepherds, don't.
There are dog breeders and trainers out there everywhere, and then there is Tom.
He is a dog lover that happens to be a breeder and trainer.
I recently purchased a protection trained GSD, Endy. I had the opportunity to actually
travel to Kansas and meet Tom and his family. That in itself was worth the drive for me,
they are some of the most wonderful people you could ever ask to meet. The bonus was that
I was able to see what this dog could do, right there were he had been trained. The
show that Tom put on for my wife and I was outstanding, and I simply cant imagine any
other breeder/trainer being as professional as Tom.
Its not just Tom's professionalism and knowledge of dogs that sets him apart.
Its the fact that he truly cares about his new friends and what it is that they are

So if you can find a better breeder and trainer of European blood line GSD's, go for it;
but from now on my dogs will come from Vom Fieldcrest Shepherds.
P.S. Endy is doing awesome, he resides with us in the house and he has been great.
He is very obedient, and eager to please. Couldn't ask for a better dog.
Thanks Tom!

My name is Michael W. Lausen, a former K-9 handler for a mid-sized police department here in South Louisiana, and owner of Tri-Parish Police Supply & Gun.
I first met Tom through the Internet while looking for a new GSD to begin teaching and building a stronger relationship with my young son. I wanted to share a love of dogs with him now that he was older. Watching him over the years ask me about my old patrol dog “Lord” and how he wanted one some day – he is now 6.
I spent many months researching and interviewing kennels around the United States and in Europe, and then came across Tom Brown and his kennels.
Since I left full time law enforcement, to pursue a private career in 1995, I felt that I had a good understanding on what I wanted in a GSD, but had no clue on the Schutzhund sport and was very interested in getting involved with this organization. As a private citizen I knew the importance of having a properly trained dog, and how much of a liability it is to not maintain or not knowing what your dog could do in a certain situation. Tom took a lot of time to ask me several personal questions to make sure that I knew what I was talking about, but more important was to match the personality of the dog with mine and my families temperament. Once that was accomplished to Tom’s and my satisfaction, Tom suggested our first GSD a Female named Adara. Adara came and all I could say was WOW! She was exactly what I had hoped for and more. Well now I have 3 dogs from Tom! Adara, and two imported dogs from Slovakia - Eros, and Chaky!
Once Houma PD found out about my dogs and saw them work, I was asked to join the local police departments reserve unit and develop their K-9 program for them, as I have done for others. So I sent my requests to Tom, and he took the challenge and began to beef up the training for Chaky, who should be arriving here sometime in October. During this time, Adara and Eros have been working out very well in personal protection, building searches and other law enforcement training requirements – tracking, article recovery, area searches and detection work. Adara – All I can say is – you can run, but you can’t hide! I have a running bet with my staff about how great her nose is and if you can hide from her, and if she does not find you, you win $100. Well I still have the money.
Whether you want a GSD for personal protection or for law enforcement, you could not ask for a better consultant or source of knowledge on where to get your dogs.
Tom is first on my list to find and train my dogs. I found Tom’s Vom Fieldcrest Shepherds to be one of great integrity and one person that I have come to develop a new friendship with not only him, but his wife and helpers. You can call me any time either at my office or at home.

I can’t believe that it will already be two weeks since you brought Chaky to us. To say that we are amazed and overjoyed with Chaky would be a gross understatement. He has met and exceeded all of our expectations.
Tom we would like to thank you so very much for all of your time and effort when you delivered Chaky to us in Boston, for without it, we would not have such a noble, intelligent, and agreeable dog.
Your natural gift of being able to listen to your customer’s desires and preferences and match them up with the ideal dog is truly something special. As city dwellers it was vitally important that stable temperament and calmness when not working be main traits necessary for us to enjoy our new companion and guardian. For this task you delivered us a dog that was just perfect.
Additionally, we found your visit with us to be remarkable. We couldn’t imagine getting to know Chaky and how best to handle him without your help. We will gladly serve as steadfast references for you and your dogs at Vom Fieldcrest Shepherds.
Many thanks,
Becky and Michael

After having done some research on the German Shepherd breed, we selected Vom Fieldcrest Shepherds from the yellow pages and called.
Tom Brown invited us to his home introduced us to his own dogs and left us with the following impressions: he was extremely knowledgeable about dogs, he would spend as much time as we needed to have our questions answered, and he was evaluating us as appropriate potential dog owners.
Tom told us to take out time in processing the information and to feel free to ask question at any time, as he would be sending us more information. We followed this advice for approximately two months.
Tom told us about a dog he felt would fit our temperaments and our lifestyle, and we met her. He advised us again to take our time before making a decision.
We ultimately purchased the dog and she has been in our family for about two months. She has exceeded our expectations in every way, and is as perfect a match as Tom believed she would be. Tom and his training staff are continuing to teach us how to achieve the great results with our German Shepherd from Slovakia.
Tom has a sixth sense about placing a dog with an owner, and he has a forthright manner that is refreshing.
Tom and his staff are professional and accommodating with a true sense of caring about dogs.
We were fortunate that our research led us to Vom Fieldcrest Shepherds, and we are very pleased to recommend their services.

I would like to thank Tom Brown and his excellent staff for providing us with an
excellent female German shepherd.
We live in the Appalachian Mountains bordering the National Forest. We needed an animal to assist us in protecting our small children. We have wild dogs, snakes, and transient bears that come in our area. Tom has and incredible ability of being able to match the correct dog with the particular needs of the owners. He did and excellent job with us.
We have been very pleased with our dog. She was trained in security, and is able to do search and rescue. She is a very smart obedient dog, and was an instant match with our kids.
I would highly recommend Tom and his staff for anyone interested in a German Shepherd for any reason.

My husband Steve wanted a german shepherd puppy. I was very leery of getting one after all the horror stories I have heard about their temperament and all. I didn't want my children or my little dogs to get hurt by a dog who was unstable...
Some garages in are neighborhood had been broken into and things had been stolen. I didn't want anyone braking in and steeling our things, or my baby puppies. So I told my husband if I could find a breeder or trainer who really knew their dogs, and was willing to teach us how to take care of the dog, and train a well rounded family protection dog, I would be more than willing to give it a try.
You have to understand I really didn't think that I would be able to find that person I thought all GSD’s were snaky scary dogs that exploded at whom ever was in there path. Boy was I dumb!!!
So the search was on as I had promised my husband. I told him I would give it 2 months, and if I couldn't find the trainer/breeder we were looking for in that time frame he would drop it and not bring up a German Shepherd again. He agreed.
I started my search by calling breeders but no one could really answer my questions. Then I got on the Internet and e-mailed breeder’s trainers of all kinds. They all had nice puppies/adult dogs but couldn’t explain what a person would have to do to keep up on the training that an adult dog already had.
It was 1 week before the 2 months was up and I came across Tom's web site vom Fieldcrest Shepherds. I told my husband this is the last person I am calling. I called Tom and right away knew that this man knew what he was talking about and he really cared about finding the right dog for you, He also made sure you were the type of person who could handle and keep the training up on these dogs. Tom told us that he not only trained the dog he also trained the buyer. This really appealed to us, as we had no experience handling a working dog that has so much training. Up to this point I was actually scared of those big dogs not knowing much about them.
Well Tom took the time to teach me a lot, and find the perfect dog for us. My husband was very excited. We planned a trip to meet Tom and our new fully trained adult personal protection dog. Her name is Twiggy.
Now this was quite a trip with 8hrs driving from our home to Tom’s home in Kansas. We had a lot to talk about on our trip. Many things came up in the conversations such as, disbelief that this all was happening, fear of the unknown, and many questions we didn’t even think about before.
We arrived in Wichita and got to our hotel where Tom had made the reservations for us in advance of our trip. What a nice place to stay. Everything you would need is right there. Tom came and picked us up and took us to meet Twiggy. Tom was just what I had pictured a very well manned kind considerate man. He asked if we were happy with our room and if we needed anything else. We were very pleased and the price was very affordable.
We got to the place where Tom keeps his dogs and Tom asked us if we were ready to meet Twiggy. Much to our surprise Tom called Twiggy and she came running up to us like she has known us forever. Tom showed us how to work Twiggy, how to have fun with her, and how to discipline her. Twiggy is the most loveable, friendly dog yet she can work when it is time to work. The best thing about it is she does know the difference between work and play.
We spent a couple of hours that night with her, and the next day about a half of day with her when we decided it was time to take her home. Now you must know we have had dogs before and we raise little dogs Maltese and Yorkies, We put Twiggy kennel in the back of the truck and Twiggy in the front with us, and away home we went. Three stops and 8 hrs later we were home.
After returning home it was time to introduce Twiggy to our 5 little dogs. One of our dogs, a Maltese, has 2 puppies she is nursing, and the other, a Yorkie, has one puppy she is nursing. Since are little dogs live in the house up stairs Twiggy will have to share the yard with them when they come out. We decide to put Twiggy up in a 10x10 kennel in the yard for now.
All the dogs got along great through the kennel. I was not sure what she would do to the little dogs so we kept them apart. A few days later I was out in the yard with the little Yorkie puppy, who was 5 weeks old and Steve opened the gate. He and Twiggy just got back from a long walk. He didn't see I had the baby out. Before I could grab the baby Twiggy was over to him and gave the puppy the biggest lick I had ever seen she cleaned that puppy like it was here own. What a great surprise! Now Twiggy comes in with the rest of the puppies. What a house full!
It was about 3 weeks after we brought Twiggy home, in the middle of the night she started barking a very loud firm bark. I got up just in time to see two guys running from our back yard. I don't know if they were up to no good, but I do know that nothing was broken into. Our neighbors have had their garages broken into in the past but now that we have Twiggy there have been no break ins. We all love her. Are neighbors tell us that Twiggy hardly ever barks but when she does they know to check things out. She always has a very good reason and all of the neighbors feel much safer with our Twiggly wigglie taking care of us one and all.
Thanks Tom. Not only did you find us a German Shepherd you found us a new family member Thanks to you and your team for all the training you gave her and continue to give us.
