German Shepherd Dog for Sale Started Male Puppy Training Program Indy
Indy is a very solid young male with all the potential to become an outstanding working dog. From the beginning he has stood out in the pack and in his training. He has been the alpha male in the pack and has been very dominate in all he does.
His drives are extreme. He will chase the ball until he wears out. At 6 months of age he is showing a good deal of defensive drive to the helper which is very good. He has great attention to the handler and will do very good obedience with food or for the ball. We had him doing the bark on command early and can’t get him to shut up.
This is a sequence of defensive postures showing him coming up into drive. I don’t want him going into defense too much as he is too young. We only do testing and keep it to a minimum.
Indy definitely keying up strong
He is not taking his eyes off the helper as he moves stronger into defense
He moves more into a guard position to guard the handler
He now displays true aggression and moves out with intent towards the helper
He is standing his ground prepared for the conflict. These are all very strong signs of the quality we are looking for in a working dog
He has positioned himself between the helper and his owner. This is a very positive sign of solid nerves. He has never shown the tendency to flight or hide from the helper.
If the helper came any closer without equipment he would get bit. Indy is showing very good civil drive for a young dog.
The helper retreats and runs off. Indy’s expression tells the entire story. He was the big winner. He protected his owner, chased off the bad guy and was victorious.
I want to emphasize and cannot overstate that we do not do this on many training sessions. Indy is a young male who needs much more maturity to be able to handle this kind of pressure. We will not put him in this kind of training for maybe 6 months. I just wanted to show you how early the drives are present but should not be exploited at this early age.
Indy’s bite work is coming along well and is full and hard. He is ready to engage without hesitation.
Indy’s play is rough but it shows that with maturity he is going to be a pretty tough guy
He is biting full and hard. I have to go with him in order to keep from getting hurt.
His grip is very full and he is learning to use his legs to his advantage
With every session he is biting harder and harder.
