It has been our goal at VFS to produce or provide the most stable, solid nerve, genetically sound, trainable German Shepherds on the market. We started a modest breeding program back in 2000 specifically to produce top quality working dogs. We had a very successful program but were very limited on the variety of producing couples one company could effectively handle. We had many very successful litters and produced some very solid pups.
Since then we have seen the industry change and our customer’s needs change as it relates to market demand. There is a very high demand for puppies as well as fully trained adult dogs. In order to be more effective, we made the determination that VFS must go in one direction or the other. We either were going to be a breeding program or produce extremely high-end, highly trained, Personal Protection Dogs. Our decision was to provide Personal Protection Dogs, or Executive Protection Dogs for the home and family.
We still have seen the the need for top quality pups and the market bears this out. VFS receives 5 to 10 calls or emails a week looking for pups. One company could not supply quality puppies at that current rate of demand. What we have been doing for several years is working in cooperation with some of the top breeders in Europe, Canada, Belgium, and the U.S. who are producing pups that meet our standards.
This type of approach has accomplished several objectives: One, it has increased the availability of quality pups to the general public, Two, it has held breeders to a cooperative standard, Three, it has allowed the consumer the option to find the right pup for there needs from several breeders world wide.
