There are “Five Critical Concepts” that must be in place in order to have a Personal Protection Dog. By definition a Personal Protection Dog must be able to defend against:
- Multiple aggressors armed or unarmed
- Home invasion situations
- Car jacking situations
- Child abduction and or kidnapping
They must be able to do interior building searches (like your home), exterior building searches (like buildings or barns), and sweep your front yard and back yard for intruders.
If all of these “Five Critical Concepts” that are definitive of a Personal Protection dog, Family Protection Dog, Home Protection Dog, and our Executive Protection Dogs, are not in place, you do not have a Personal Protection Dog.
We provide our customers with four options in our Protection Dog packages, Levels I, II and III and Executive Protection Dogs. All Protection Dog packages will meet the Five Critical Concepts listed above. So, what makes a Level I dog versus an Executive Protection Dog? Level I Dogs perform fewer Scenario Based Training exercises than the other levels.
The definition of Scenario is as follows: An imagined or projected sequence of events, especially any of several detailed plans or possibilities or one act plays. Or simply put, a simulated reenactment of an actual event.
Warning: Given the right situation, under enough pressure dogs will fail. Any company who does not do many Scenario Based Training exercises are producing inferior dogs and could be setting the customer up for disaster. This is extremely important to understand. Most companies do not train Scenario Based exercises because they do not adhere to the “Five Critical Concepts” rule.
These “Five Critical Concepts” do not come natural to working dogs. They must be trained and must be exercised by numerous Scenario Based Training situations with a variety of stresses being applied to the dog.
Warning: Do not be fooled. If you are searching the web to purchase a dog and it has not been trained to meet the Five Critical Concepts that define a Personal Protection Dog it is not a Personal Protection Dog.
If you are searching the web and the dog you may be considering was not trained with numerous Scenario Based Training exercises you are going to have a dog that will fail, putting you and your family in harms way. This is a dangerous situation.
