Family Protection Dogs

One of the questions I get most often as it relates to owning a Personal Protection Dog is, “Will a Protection Dog fit well within my family with children and other animals?”  My first reply is yes, and here are some of the reasons. We only sell to families. We do not sell to the military, police departments or private security companies.

Prior to dogs arriving at our facility, our vendor does specific selecting and testing, geared towards a Family Protection Dog. Dogs in our selecting and testing program are tested for great nerves and sound temperament which cannot be compromised in any of our Protection Dogs. Our training is set up for the family in mind, with the “Five Critical Concepts” and “Scenario Based Training” exercises on all of our dogs. This includes Level I, II, and III dogs, and our Executive Personal Protection Dogs.

Our dogs are multi-handler capable. We literally train for this because families have more than one member in their home who will handle the Personal Protection Dog. This would include children as young as 6 years of age. We do extensive socialization in parks and in areas where people gather at events to ensure stability in all of our Family Protection Dogs. This is a key factor as our dogs should be part of your family and go with you as much as possible.

Having been in business for 35 years, we have not had an indiscriminate bite reported to us. Finally, we deliver all of our dogs and spend time on the integration to help families understand their new family member. All of our Family Protection Dogs integrate quickly (about 6 months), and get along well in their new pack environment. They love their new families and bond very tight.
